Memorial Day 2021

I have always loved small town parades. When I lived in NYC I was lucky enough to go to the Halloween parade in the Village, the Pride parade, St. Patrick’s, and even the Tartan Day parade (remind me to tell you a funny story about that), but I don’t enjoy them as much as I love a small town parade, especially one centered around a patriotic theme. The whole Trump thing has kind of ruined patriotism for a lot of people, as the MAGA folk seemed to have co-opted the flag, at least for now. I hope we can get back to a normal sense of pride in our flag soon.
